Welcome to my Angelgotchi homepage. I've got my own angelgotchi (Japanese version) since 23-02-1998. My aunt Mayumi brought one with her from her trip to Japan. She gave me a protection case too. I scanned them but my page is a bit to big so I'll have them up on my tripod pages as soon as possible. I promise you you'll find a lot of new info here. I'm not the copying and pasting type.

Why the Angelgotchi was made: Did you know that the angelgotchi version was made because parents had complained about the fact that that tamagotchi dies? The parents thought the death of an electronic pet could be upsetting to children. (Offcourse it is! Finally you cheated a mamechi and when you want to brag about it to your friends it dies ) Responding to that criticism Japanese toy maker Bandai said it would sell a new version of the toy that returns to life as an angel. Very good thinking. I like the angel characters very much and now I have my very own angelgotchi!!
More about the Angelgotchi: Angelgotchi, tamagotchi angel or tenshichi as it is called in Japanese. The Japanese version of angelgotchi has a motion sensor and an sound sensor in it. (See picture below of sensor) When you feed your angel a chocolate sometimes a bat will come to steal it away. This happens more often when your angel is still young, but happens less often when it 's grown up. The bat can even come back three times in a row. They said you have to tap the egg to scare the bat away, but I have to beat it ...hard... Then the bat doesn’t return for quite a while. When the bat does get the chocolate the happiness meter goes down. The American version, the tamagotchi Angel doesn’t have this sensor, because the price would have risen over $15 but the American version does have a touchscreen. But it’s not that easy to touch the screen when you got a protection case and your screen will get all dirty. I’m glad I've got the original! ( don't say I have wrong info on my page it was right all along you just can't read!! Only meant to all the people telling me I have wrong info on my pages...)
Devilchi: If you don't take good care of your angel it may turn into a Devil-chi the worst character on the angelgotchi. You must have neglected your angelgotchi that means bad luck for you meanie!! You can’t play with angels and think you can get away with it!! You won't be able to get this character with the American version, they have taken it out because it would be scary or something... You can get the devilchi by turning of the lights a lot so the angel gets sick and by letting the bat take the chocolates. There is no thanks message when he goes away.
| The new game | It’s called shooting stars. It’s a lot better than the dull right left game on the first generation or the higher lower game. It's really a reaction speed game. You have to play the game, because from snacks only the tenshi power increases. But if you play it right you can get two hearts full instead of one. The game gets slower as the Angel gets older, that's very easy to explain: When the Angel grows it gets bigger and is made of more pixels. This slows the game down, just think back at your tamagotchi when you had an adult the game was slower too, not to make it easier, because it was easy enough, just because the character contained more pixels. |
| The new colors | Japanese angelgotchi are pearlized white with golden wings, pink with silver wings and blue with silver wings. The American has 4 colors: light blue, light pink, light yellow and lila with silver or gold wings. There is a strange circle round each button and the buttons seem to be to thin for the holes. All buttons are white. |
| The new characters | The characters are different offcourse. I personally think they look much better then the tamagotchi's and there are more secret characters. The tamagotchi had one the angelgotchi has the cactus or the smiling angel, the twins, the samurai, the devilchi (only on Japanese) and the lucky poop!! 5!! |
| The moves | The characters all have special "moves" when you open the door or don't and when they are going away the angelgotchi looks different. Like for example the chestnut angel drops his wings when you open the door and when you forget to open the door blinks to you. You can see the others on the Angelgotchi close-up page. |
| Less attention | It needs less attention, when the tamagotchi hatches it beeps constantly. The angel is more quiet and the beep is very pleasant and soft. Because you can play twice to fill all the hearts, it doesn't take much time to play and feed. You only have to watch very carefully when you feed it snacks, because when the bat comes and you don't tap the egg, the happiness meter drops 3 stripes. |
| Icons better arranged | The icons are re-arranged, much better, but it will need some getting use to. And they are much nicer. Meter first, then food, play, flying butt, bell, arrow, light, smile face. |
| Sickness | As for the tamagotchi which could only have 3 injections to get better, the angel can have up to 6!! But still it doesn't die quickly when it's sick. You can make it sick by turning of the lights. |
| The Growth | The Angelgotchi changes fast a new character every day for the first 4 days, so they are perfect for experimenting and there is a much cooler changing screen looks like this <<<>>> |
| The Food | Angels eat pie and chocolates and best of all you have to stuff it with chocolates to keep the angel/tenshi power up. |
| The letters in the meter are in Japanese characters. | The letters are in English. |
| The Japanese meter says Tp = tenshi power. | The American meter says Ap = Angel power. |
| The Japanese packaging is blue with characters. | Don't know exactly but the tamagotchi packaging. |
| The Japanese booklet is unreadable, but I haven't needed it. I knew enough from tamagotchi experience and from the web. | The American booklet is readable, but has a lot of disadvantages. |

The door : If you see a door or a blank screen
it means that your angel has gone for a walk. You can leave it on it's walk or bring it
back. If you bring it back you have to press bell, the door will crack open then you tap
the egg to open the door if you don't the door will close again. Some characters do
something funny. You can read that on the bottom of the angelgotchi dairy page
or see some pictures of it on my angelgotchi close-ups
page. For example if you open the door the angelchestnut drops it's
wings and the bighead angel stands on a scale or something... If you don't knock on the

the door will disappear after a while to save energy, but there is a door. On the Japanese
version the door doesn't disappear.

More about my angelgotchi : I've got a white one with gold wings. My protection case is blue. With the protection case came a piece of paper filled with cute transparent pics to paste on the egg. Real cute. Digi send me a picture of it before I got it myself but it's a bitmap. So I can't show it but I can send you it if you ask. I made tons of pictures of the angelgotchi characters. You'll see them on the next picture pages.
Where to get an angelgotchi : To get the American version you go to the regular tam selling stores and ask if they will be selling them. If not you ask friends in another part of America to go to the stores and ask. If you don't live in America you will need to get a friend who does and ask him. Well to get an Japanese version you do the same, try to get somebody who can and will buy an angel for you. Or go to the Welcome to goods site or the Friends toystore. Welcome to goods is cheap and they are nice people, but the Friends toystore have more to offer. Go to my links page to see the urls.
How to get a special character : Angels are very easy to raise so to get another character then the usual chestnut and twins, try neglecting it. Here are some ideas to do that: leave the lights on when it's asleep or turn it off when it isn't. This way it will get sick and you can cure it. Another idea: don't feed it every time, let it beep and let it beep again and then feed it. Or keep the harts half full. You can also try not to praise it evrytime or don't praise it at all. You can also collect poops, but somehow I find that hard to do with those cute angels. To see what secrets you can get with a character look at my angelgotchi dairy page.
American version of the Angelgotchi
Angelgotchi hint : To make it age faster without cheating (cheating won't work), you can wake the angel when you are awake longer then the angel is. For example. The old man angel goes to bed early, when he's asleep, you turn off the lights as usual and then change the time untill a minute for waking. Then you can let the angel age another few hours before you go to bed, just turn it on pause when you go to bed. And when you wake you can take it off pause and it will go to bed in the late afternoon now, you just do the same and one day it will go to sleep twice in a day, so you skipped a day.
Another hint : Batteries are expensive and bad for the envirronement. So to save energy, turn it onto clock when it's asleep so you see the numbers instead of the ZZZ. Becuase the screen it less black the batts don't have to do so much work and they will last about 6 months or more. If they do go flat go to a big store and give them the batts they will have a special box for them, you can never throw batts in the trash, because they are very poluting!!! I just had a tip about the batteries. When they start going flat you can make them last a bit longer by turning in thr tap for a day or you can take them out and put them on a warm (NOT HOT!!) heater for an hour and put them back in. The pixels will look darker now, but you still have to buy new ones soon. It's not that good to keep your angel running on low energy, it may damage it.
A stupid trick : If you hold your angel upside down when you have the ghost you'll see a ghost with a stupid thing on it's head.
The Angelgotchi Sega saturn game : I was wondering on the Bandai page when I saw two close-ups from a game screen and I could just make out they were Angelgotchi characters. Wow! I never heard of it, but it's out in Japan. I have two snapshots you can look at.
It's probably not at all like the raising game because I don't see the icons for meter, feed, game, clean etc. I think it's more a Mario Bros type of game. In the first screen it's ovious the angel is playing a game which looks very similar to the shooting stars game. On the right you see an Angel wondering in some sort of a landscape, maybe like Zelda. It looks real cute and I hope to know more about it soon.
